Although I didn’t realize it until the other day, my semester at university is just about to come to an end. Even though this will just be my second completed semester at university, I am looking forward to a break after my first year of handling the amount of work that is required to do well in university. Once this semester does completely come to an end, I will be returning back to live with my parents in their home for the summer. Even though you may think that living with your parents again after having so much freedom sounds terrible, it’s not bad at all when you know it’s only temporary. The only thing standing in between me and my time back home is the final examinations that so many people dread.
Even though I was very worried about my final examinations last semester (for the record, I ended up doing well), I am really confident that I’m not going to encounter any problems during the ones at the end of this semester. To reward myself for my upcoming strong performance on my final examinations, I have already made some summer plans. Along with a mate from my home of London, I will have a Euston Station car rental reserved for the beginning of summer. We are picking up the Euston Station car rental, and then using it to take a week long road trip. I decided to take this friend with me on the road trip because we always have a great time together, and I know we are going to have a blast being out on the open road with each other.

Over the past few weeks, people have been going crazy over the news that the H1N1 flu virus (which you may also know as the swine flu virus) is spreading across the globe. When the swine flu virus started appearing in Mexico, it killed a significant amount of people (many of who were previously healthy young adults). While swine flu has continued to spread throughout the world (appearing in everywhere from the United States to Australia), it’s percentage of fatalities have decreased significantly. I brought this issue up because it is hard for me to figure out why people continue to be extremely worried about swine flu when it is proving to be much less serious than initially believed. Since the panic level of people around the world has failed to decline (although there is every reason for them to worry less), countries are still taking a hard stance on swine flu.
Even though it doesn’t seem like the concerns over the H1N1 virus are going anywhere soon, I am still planning on taking a vacation this summer. Because I have taken a trip during the last couple of summers, I already have plans to spend a week and a half in London with one of my good friends. Since I have already taken care of booking my hotel room, Euston station car rental and flight, it would take something much more serious than this current swine flu issue for me to cancel my whole trip. Fortunately, since there is still some time until my trip starts, I’m hoping people will have calmed down about swine flu and moved on to the next thing that the media is making a big deal out of!
