If you find yourself in the vicinity of Euston Station and would like to get a bite to eat why not try something a little different? Great Nepalese restaurant opened its doors in 1982 and offers the exotic cuisine of the Himalayans. The restaurant is at 48 Eversholt Street and is open Monday to Saturday from noon to 2:30 PM and again for dinner between 6 PM and 11:30 PM.
Don’t be fooled by the look of the restaurant. The basic decor is made up for by the amazing food. You may like to begin your meal with some unique Nepalese starters such as Masco-Bara, a deep-fried lentil pancake served with curry sauce; Momo, meat dumplings that are steam cooked or Kalezo Ra Chyau, chicken liver with mushrooms and onions. The main menu includes several Tandoori specialties and special chicken curry dishes. If you like duck there are four duck meals on the menu. The restaurant also offers Mutton lamb, fish, and a wide variety of Nepalese vegetarian dishes. If you find it difficult to decide they also offer set meals for one, two, three or four people. On the wine list you will find red wines, champagne, white wines, spirits and beers.
Prices at the Great Nepalese are astoundingly reasonable. Appetizers start at 3.50 pounds and main courses range from 6 to 15 pounds. A set meal for two including a starter, main course and dessert goes for 32 pounds. You can order wines by the bottle starting at 10 pounds or order a glass for 2.75.
