Euston railway station is an old an historic railway station that was actually the first station to be built in London. The initial railway station had 2 platforms, which back in the 1800′s served the purpose, however as the years moved on the railway ceased to be fit for purpose.

In the early 1960′s, and in spite of a strong public outcry, the historic station – including the famous Euston Arch seen in many old photos – was completely demolished and rebuilt. What grew up in its place is the modern international train station of today with 18 platforms and four train operators running services to and from the station. The design of the new station was very typical of the time, attempting look modern and to symbolize an exciting new period of modern history.
