Euston Station is a bustling area, and is very close to the central hub of London’s travel – King’s Cross Station. This means that you don’t have far to travel to find a cheap room for the night, or even for the duration of your stay. All of them are a very short car journey away from Euston Station.

With rooms from just £35 a night, the Hotel Meridiana and Macdonald Hotel (not to be confused with the fast food brand!) are the cheapest in the area. The Macdonald Hotel is a bed and breakfast with a selection single, double, twin, triple and even family rooms to suit larger parties. They pride themselves on their family-owned nature, which allows them to offer excellent hospitality. The Hotel Meridiana is very similar to the Macdonald Hotel, and will offer similar facilities and in a similar location. However, the Hotel Meridiana caters better for business visitors than its’ rival the Macdonald Hotel.

If you choose to spend an extra £5 extra per night, you find yourself with a choice between the Montana Excel and Melville Hotels. Montana is situated within a quiet square in London, should you wish to get away from all the hustle and bustle of London for the night this is where you should stay. Unfortunately, you will have to put up with shared toilets, but for the price you really cannot complain! Very similar, again in a quiet location, is the Melville Hotel which has a lot more en suite facilities than its rival! Both have free wi-fi can you can check in as early as 1 pm.

I think that a lot of people come to England thinking that it is a small country and that it is easy to get around and see everything. I think that compared to some much bigger countries, then obviously it is small. However, it can be quite difficult getting about if you do not have a car. If you want to travel outside of London then it would be a really good idea to look in to the option of car hire. You should have no problems in finding cars to hire at the airports and other locations and you can even organise one before you leave to make things really straightforward for you.

It may be a concern if you are having to get used to driving on the other side of the road to what you are used to. However, you will soon get used to it and if you follow the traffic that will help. Also, if you hire a car it will be right hand drive so that will be a constant reminder of what you should be doing. It is likely that it will only be on less busy roads that you might forget, as there is no other traffic around, but the fact that these roads are quiet will mean that it should not do any harm anyway. As long as you are not too tired then you should be fine and if you have any passengers then you could always ask them if they can help you to remember.

Practical Business Trips

Every now and then you find yourself in an odd situation where you need to be in two places at once. This can lead to you fretting over where you’re going, what you need when you get there, how many people you’re going to need to talk to and how long you will be there. The last thing you need to worry about, at that point, is how you’re going to get from the train station to your destination. For those people lucky enough to live in Edinburgh, or at least be there, when they need to be in two places at once (London), the answer becomes simple. Take the train down and simply rent a car.

This is more economical than driving your own vehicle and it also saves you more money than taking a flight. The fact that Euston Station offers such a wide variety of car rentals and is in a pretty central location is a great plus, not to mention the direct trains to and from Edinburgh. However, there are other rental facilities and you should shop around as rates can vary from one to another.

By renting a car you are not only ensuring that you are in control of your punctuality, but you are also then able to deviate slightly from your original plans if you should need to. There is no best way to go about anything, but there is always an easier way and a harder way and being in control of your own transportation needs is definitely easier.
