I have recently been on a visit to London. I arrived at Euston station and hired a car and I was so glad that I did. I didn’t realise but there was an underground strike on the day that I was there and so there were very few tubes running and so public transport was in chaos. It did mean that more people were using their cars and so the roads were quite busy but I was glad that I was not waiting at bus stops in the rain. It was great as I hired a small car as it was just me on my own and so I could easily nip about and park in nice small spaces which was great.

I actually managed to get everything that I had to do, done very quickly and I was able to spend some time shopping and enjoying London, which was lovely. The rain cleared away in the afternoon and I took a stroll in Hyde Park which is something that I have not done since I was a child. I also did a bit of shopping on Regent Street and in Harrods which was really great too. It has certainly made me decide to not only visit London more often but to hire a small car and therefore be able to fit a lot more in to my day. I normally spend most of my time, queuing or on the tube and this time I did not have to, which was lovely.

The NCP car park is an incredibly useful facility situated by Euston train station. There are many things that make it an excellent car park. Unlike other car parks it is possible to book tickets online before stopping there. If you know that you are going to be leaving your car at the station for a period of time, nothing gives more security than knowing you will be able to leave your car in a secure car park for the duration of your time away. Particularly in a station that is one of the busiest in London, it is essential that you’ll be able to park your car. The car park has upwards of 60 spaces and disabled spaces close to the station there is maximum accessibility for all those who are in need.

The paying system is also very useful. By far, the most popular method is to pay by phone. This is one of the things that makes NCP car parks different to others in London; instead of having to faff around with the machine and miss your train, you can phone up and pay over the phone which is much less hassle. Another massive advantage is that, if you are a frequent user, you can buy a season ticket to the car park. This means that you pay in advance and just have to display the card in your car whenever you use the car park – no additional payment which means there is no problem with missing your train.
