If you are to catch a train out of the city of London then you are very likely to be gone for the whole day. In fact, it can be literally from dawn until dusk. This leaves you with an awful dilemma; how to get to the station in the morning and then how to return home in the evening. Of course, as Euston is a station you could very easily catch a train to Euston in the morning and then home in the evening but is this really what you want to be doing? When you wake you’ll be tired, as you will be when you get back into London so the last thing you want to be doing is trying to get your head round the train times and be rushing; it overcomplicates things overall. If you want to have a relaxing journey to and from the station you would be advised to drive and park in the station car park.
This may sound like an expensive idea but really, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Car parking charges are as follows:
Weekdays
Up to 1 hour – £6.00
Up to 3 hours – £10.00
Up to 6 hours – £12.50
Up to 12 hours – £18.00
Up to 24 hours – £22.00
Weekends
Up to 20 mins – Free
Up to 24 hours – £10.00
In anybody’s book, those prices are incredibly reasonable and are certainly less than you would expect to pay for a pair of trains!

After you have taken the train into Euston station you are unlikely to have any form of transport. Let’s face it, unless you are visiting friends who are happy to ferry you around to wherever you want to go and pick you up or drop you off at the station when you arrive and leave, you will not have access to a vehicle on a regular basis during your stay. Because of this, you have a choice between using the public transport system to get yourself around, or hire a car instead. Anybody who is at all knowledgeable about the public transport system in Britain will quickly come to the conclusion that it is not the best solution to your transport trouble. Infrequent services and a tendency to end up delayed for extended periods of time means that any prospective arrival or departure time that you find on a schedule must be taken with a pinch of salt as there is no guarantee that the actual times will bear any sort of resemblance to them!
As this is the case, you have to rent a car; it is the only way to ensure that you get everywhere at a time that you want. As you are in complete control of your journey you won’t be bound to the line that is shut for maintenance or the bus route that is riddled with road works. Rent a car and you can drive all over the city, making your own routes and seeing London with a maximum amount of efficiency.
