Getting the right car at the right price may not always be easy. Still, there are some simple steps to getting a car rental right. Following these simple steps regularly should make every car rental go smoothly.

The first step is determining the right car for the trip. There are times when a specific car or vehicle is needed for a specific purpose. Then there will be other times when any car will do. Getting a vehicle in mind will help in the next step.

Among the next simple steps to getting car rental right is to comparison shop. This is not at difficult as it seems. There are a lot of car rental companies and travel web sites that can provide an instant quite for a car rental in seconds. Ten minutes could result in ten prices for a certain type of car on certain dates. Decide on a price. Should prices be similar, a person can keep shopping or they can choose a brand they know and are comfortable with.

The next step is to make a reservation and pre-book the car. This is a simple but important step. A person needs to secure the car and price. Also, after booking they need to gather all the necessary details to pick-up the car.

The final step is to read the contract before signing it. The details can hide many unexpected charges that will bloat the final price an individual pays. Reading the contract thoroughly will make a person aware and ask if that clause can be nullified before signing.

These simple steps to getting car rental right will help one every time they travel.

London does have a lot of options for travel, either heading into or out of the city. It has plenty of bus, rail, and air services at various locations. As it concerns rail, the Euston Railway Station is the sixth busiest railway station in London. It serves as a gateway to England’s West Midlands, North Wales, and a portion of Scotland. Also, it is centrally located in London. This can be a very convenient station to take a trip out of the city into the countryside of Great Britain. Just need to know where to stow one’s vehicle when headed out from Euston Station.

Seeking a cheap Euston Station car park is not easy. Like anything, it is supply and demand. With low supply and high demand the price goes up. There is an easy option for a Euston Station car park. There is the Euston Station Underground Car Park Melton Street. This onsite car park is managed by Arcade Car Parks. Obviously, the pricing will be premium for this site.

Other options for Euston Station include George Mews Car Park (North Gower Street), and Kings Cross Car Parking (3 Crinan Street). Both are a bit of a walk but are the nearest off-site Euston Station car park locations.

One alternative, if one is planning an extended trip from Euston Station, is to find an inexpensive car park near a tube station. Then take the tub to Euston Station. The Euston Station (tube) will end at the Euston Railway Station. This could be a cheaper option than trying to find something near Euston station.

Euston Station Car Park Charges

Parking at Euston station couldn’t be easier. There are so many factors that show that driving to the station is a much better option than walking. If you choose to walk then you will have to get up much easier and set aside a lot more time for travel. In an age where time is valued almost as highly as gold, the decision to waste time through unnecessary travelling is quite bizarre! Similarly, only someone with incredible resilience would choose to risk the British weather by not driving to and from the station; why put yourself at the mercy of the heavens when you can just about guarantee that it will rain heavily as soon as you set foot out of the station and stop as soon as you get home! Some people are worried about the safety of their car if they leave it at the station, which is fair enough – you are taking your car into an unknown area so it is very similar to being out of your comfort zone. Yet, if you think about it, your car couldn’t be safer than in the car park; not many people have a state of the art CCTV system surrounding their drive – by leaving the car unsupervised at home, it is in much more danger than driving to the station!

The car park is incredibly cheap – even being free at weekends. During the say it costs £1.20 per hour for the first 5 hours, then £12 for 12 hours and £20 for 24 hours. You’ll be hard pressed to find a cheaper option!

Euston Station Car Hire

Euston Station is the sixth busiest station in London and therefore has outstanding transport links to other parts of London, and indeed the rest of the country. However, public transport in the UK isn’t as good as on the continent; over there you can expect trains to arrive on the minute, whereas in the UK they are frequently delayed – if the weather is too cold the trains freeze up and can’t run, and if it’s too hot the tracks expand so much that the trains can’t run! Therefore by far the safest option is to rent a car upon arriving at Euston Station. You may ask what the point is of such a move, when you may find it easier to flag down a cab, especially if you feel you don’t know London that well. The downside to this is that cab drivers have a reputation for ‘going the long way’ and charging you a fortune for your journey; it might well be cheaper to simply hire a car.

Car hire operators have noticed this so there is a wide variety of choice for car rentals in the local area. Some will even drive the car to you at the station for you to drive away from the front door. This has the advantage of allowing you to find the best deal without having to worry too much about how close they are to your pickup area. If you are looking for a company that is very close to the station, Avis is your best bet with an office just a few hundred yards from the station entrance.

If you are to catch a train out of the city of London then you are very likely to be gone for the whole day. In fact, it can be literally from dawn until dusk. This leaves you with an awful dilemma; how to get to the station in the morning and then how to return home in the evening. Of course, as Euston is a station you could very easily catch a train to Euston in the morning and then home in the evening but is this really what you want to be doing? When you wake you’ll be tired, as you will be when you get back into London so the last thing you want to be doing is trying to get your head round the train times and be rushing; it overcomplicates things overall. If you want to have a relaxing journey to and from the station you would be advised to drive and park in the station car park.

This may sound like an expensive idea but really, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Car parking charges are as follows:

Weekdays

Up to 1 hour – £6.00

Up to 3 hours – £10.00

Up to 6 hours – £12.50

Up to 12 hours – £18.00

Up to 24 hours – £22.00

Weekends

Up to 20 mins – Free

Up to 24 hours – £10.00

In anybody’s book, those prices are incredibly reasonable and are certainly less than you would expect to pay for a pair of trains!

After you have taken the train into Euston station you are unlikely to have any form of transport. Let’s face it, unless you are visiting friends who are happy to ferry you around to wherever you want to go and pick you up or drop you off at the station when you arrive and leave, you will not have access to a vehicle on a regular basis during your stay. Because of this, you have a choice between using the public transport system to get yourself around, or hire a car instead. Anybody who is at all knowledgeable about the public transport system in Britain will quickly come to the conclusion that it is not the best solution to your transport trouble. Infrequent services and a tendency to end up delayed for extended periods of time means that any prospective arrival or departure time that you find on a schedule must be taken with a pinch of salt as there is no guarantee that the actual times will bear any sort of resemblance to them!

As this is the case, you have to rent a car; it is the only way to ensure that you get everywhere at a time that you want. As you are in complete control of your journey you won’t be bound to the line that is shut for maintenance or the bus route that is riddled with road works. Rent a car and you can drive all over the city, making your own routes and seeing London with a maximum amount of efficiency.

Euston Car Park Charges

The vast majority of people who are using Euston station drive to the station and need to park there; mostly park there for the whole day. The reason for this becomes apparent when you think about the reasons behind using the station – mostly, you won’t be going on the train for a few hours; more than likely you will be going for the day out somewhere else. Because of this, you will be returning home late at night and the last thing that you want to be doing after a long journey is having to walk home – you want to take the easy option and get home quickly so you can fall into bed and sleep! To park a car for a day often sounds like a very expensive option to take. However, when you look at the following tariffs, you will see that, in actual fact, they are very reasonable prices.

Up to 1 hour – £6.00

Up to 3 hours – £10.00

Up to 6 hours – £12.50

Up to 12 hours – £18.00

Up to 24 hours – £22.00

Saturday & Sunday

Up to 20 mins – Free

Up to 24 hours – £10.00

Motorcycles (Up to 24 hours) – £4.00

As you can see, if you stay for a day then it will work out at just over £1 per hour but if you decide to stay for a day and night then the cost is actually under £1 per hour. No matter which way that you look at it, the pricing is very reasonable – you only need to glance at the weekend tariff to see that it is excellent value for money! Therefore, whilst it is understandable that you might want to walk to the station and it is a way of saving money, after a long day out when you’ve done a lot of travelling, the only thing that you will want to do is leap into your car, drive home and fall into bed; it makes everything much easier!

London Euston Car Parking

When you are planning to catch a train then you have to factor in the transportation to the station as well as the actual train. Many people choose to use the tube system that permeates London and this is a perfectly reasonable way to do it. However, if you think about the big picture then it is by no means the best option. On the travel there it is very likely that you have pre-booked your tickets and will therefore have to get on a specific train. This is perfectly fine in a perfect world, yet in reality it is just impractical. The way that the British transport system is it seems to work against you and you can guarantee that there will be a line closed for maintenance on the day that you are travelling – leading to a rush to find an alternative route. On the journey back you are likely to be tired and just want to rest – not possible when you have to navigate yourself back home in the dark.

Therefore, whilst it may appear to be the easier option, in actual fact it will make your trip much more stressful than it should be and there is no need for it. If you use your car instead then all of this trouble disappears because you are in control of your own journey. The car park at Euston station has nearly 300 spaces meaning that there are no worries about not finding a space and the cheap pricing means that it will probably work out cheaper than using the tube.

London Euston Car Hire

I have recently been on a visit to London. I arrived at Euston station and hired a car and I was so glad that I did. I didn’t realise but there was an underground strike on the day that I was there and so there were very few tubes running and so public transport was in chaos. It did mean that more people were using their cars and so the roads were quite busy but I was glad that I was not waiting at bus stops in the rain. It was great as I hired a small car as it was just me on my own and so I could easily nip about and park in nice small spaces which was great.

I actually managed to get everything that I had to do, done very quickly and I was able to spend some time shopping and enjoying London, which was lovely. The rain cleared away in the afternoon and I took a stroll in Hyde Park which is something that I have not done since I was a child. I also did a bit of shopping on Regent Street and in Harrods which was really great too. It has certainly made me decide to not only visit London more often but to hire a small car and therefore be able to fit a lot more in to my day. I normally spend most of my time, queuing or on the tube and this time I did not have to, which was lovely.
